David Hendricks, San Antonio Express-News business columnist

David Hendricks, a native of Wichita Falls, is a veteran San Antonio journalist, having started with the San Antonio Express-News in February 1976.

After graduating from the University of Texas at Austin, Hendricks started on the city desk, covering urban affairs, City Hall, general assignments and religion, until being assigned to help cover the Texas Legislature during its 1983 session in Austin.

Upon returning to San Antonio from Austin, Hendricks became a business writer. He was named assistant business editor in 1985 and business editor in 1986, a position he held until 1992. He has been writing his column since 1989.

In addition to his business column, Hendricks contributes book reviews, classical music reviews and travel articles for the San Antonio Express-News.

Hendricks is married to Lucy Hendricks, and together they have one child, Emily.
